Week 34: Chick Magnet

Yesterday we got permission from the President to attend a meal appointment with the other missionaries in Rockwood.  It was one of their investigators/a formerly less-active member of the church.  It was AMAZING food and we even got to take some of the leftovers home (Woohoo!). Anyways, they totally have a bunch of baby chicks that are currently living in the bathtub. (They put a bunch of the stuff down for them to walk on and have a bunch of feeders and have a few lamps to keep them warm). Well, as I'm using the bathroom with little baby chicks in it, I decide that it is my duty to hold one and pet it. So I left and asked if it was alright and got to hold one!

The one in the picture is named Smokey and he was the only grey chicken in the bunch so he was my favorite. They're so soft and fun to hold. I totally want chickens now; they poop out eggs like every day!

Well, I hope y'all are having as fun of a time as I am. Miss you guys!

Week 33: Sick

Well, I know what all of you are thinking: "It's Tuesday and I still haven't received my weekly email from Elder Christensen; I've been looking forward to that all week!"
Basically I got the flu pretty bad. I was throwing up Sunday night all the way until Monday at around 4 pm pretty consistently. The best part about the whole situation is that it all happened over P-Day! Basically I didn't get to go shopping or anything yesterday since I was so sick. Poor Elder Farnsworth has been itching to do things but I've been too sick to move.  Luckily Elder Constantino (one of the other missionaries in Rockwood) is also sick so he's getting dropped off at our apartment so that Elder Breck and Elder Farnsworth can go out and still do missionary work today while the sickies just grovel in pain.
I had an interesting thought as I was at a dinner appointment on Saturday while pouring dressing on my salad.  I have literally never once in my life been able to put the right amount of dressing on my salad. I either put too little or too much and then the salad doesn't taste as good.
Well, that's all I've got for this week. Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow.  Being sick as a missionary sucks! You can't watch TV or do anything fun.
In conclusion: When your mission President tells you to get a flu shot, you should probably get it, otherwise you get stuck in the apartment all day.
Miss you guys!
